What a lovely spring weekend! It started slightly eventfully with a very busy Friday at work. I had a deadline to meet that ended up with me literally shaking in panic that I wasn’t going to make it! Luckily all was good 🙂 Phew!
On Saturday, hubby was working so had the house to myself. Usually I take the opportunity to catch up on all the TV programmes I’ve missed during the week. Girly things such as One Born Every Minute and Kirstie’s Best of Both Worlds that hubby can’t stand. I have to record them during the week and then either watch them late at night once he’s gone to bed or on Saturdays when he’s working!
However, this Saturday I was mainly watching YouTube videos of Disneyworld and Universal Studios. Last week, we decided that once we finish paying for our wedding, we’re going to go to Orlando!! I’m so excited you wouldn’t believe it. One of the videos nearly had me in tears because I was that happy! I can’t wait for 2016.
I did eventually leave the house and venture into town. We had fish pie planned for dinner so I had to buy some fish! Bit of a necessary ingredient really. While in town I was compelled to pop into Primark, where I saw a t-shirt that I just had to buy otherwise hubby would never forgive me. (Sorry for the fuzzy photo!)
Saturday night we went out to celebrate my colleague’s 40th birthday. It made a lovely change to actually go out with hubby. We don’t usually go out in the evenings to bars or anything. It was a pretty sedate evening, which was great because it meant no hangover!
Is there a phone that has a flash on the front camera? There really should be. How else can you take selfies in the dark?
Sunday was pretty productive. After egg on toast, hubby and I got rid of some crap from the garden. We’ve still got a long way to go, but we’re now minus two rusty barbecues! We had a lovely wander round the garden centre and brought home some lilies, herbs and pansies to fill some pots that have been lying around the garden for ages, and a basket I bought in ASDA for £3 last summer that had never been used.
Pretty, huh? I’m looking forward to using fresh herbs in my cooking.
So all in all, it was fab weekend! Lazy, exciting, cooking, gardening and shopping, all in one. Fingers crossed next weekend is just as good. I know it’ll come round quick enough!
How was your weekend?
